The city of Larkspur and its sister town of Corte Madera are neighboring communities in the beautiful shadow of Mount Tamalpais. Corte Madera translates from Spanish to “cut wood” – the area was central to the early redwood lumber trade that built Northern California. Families with school-age kids know these two communities share the excellent Larkspur-Corte Madera School District, and are home to several prestigious private and parochial schools as well.
